If weather is bad, will the chapel be closed?
In cases of inclement weather potentially causing dangerous driving conditions, the Adoration Committee will determine if the chapel should be closed. If at all possible, this decision will be made before the 9pm holy hour.
In situations where the weather turns bad over night, the committee may decide to close the chapel during the night.
If a closure is necessary, the Adoration Committee will attempt to contact scheduled adorers who are directly affected by the closure. The committee will also send out an All-Adorer/All-Sub email message with closing information.
(Please update your phone and email address on your We Adore Him dashboard to ensure you receive this important message in a timely manner).
If you’re scheduled to adore and have not been notified of a closing, and driving conditions seem to have worsened, please contact the Adoration Committee at 812-269-5333 before attempting to drive to the chapel.
The closure message will also indicate when the chapel is expected to re-open. In most cases when the weather is expected to clear up, the chapel will re-open at 9am either the current day or the following day. But again, the mass email message will include this information.
What should I do if severe weather hits?
If severe weather hits while you’re in the Adoration Chapel, please refer to the Emergency Procedures for Severe Weather.
If you have questions regarding inclement weather closures, please feel free to contact the adoration coordinator at adoration@stcharlesbloomington.org .
